FAQ

What is counseling like?

Therapy here isn’t about sitting in silence while someone nods at you, nor is it a rigid lecture. It is a collaborative, down-to-earth space where we actually talk through what’s keeping you stuck. In our sessions, we focus on understanding your patterns, unpacking the pressure you’re carrying, and using practical, evidence-based tools (like CBT and ERP) to help you make real shifts. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling heard, grounded, and equipped with a clearer path forward, at a pace that feels right for you.

What to expect during the first session?

The first session is one of the most important sessions.  This session entails going through all the initial paperwork. you completed via the portal.  We will also spend a lot of time discussing your presenting problem and the history of the problem.  Furthermore, I will explain counseling in more detail to you and offer time for you to ask me any questions.

How long are counseling sessions?

To accommodate all clients I offer 30 minutes, 45 minutes, and 60 minutes sessions.

How long will counseling last?

The length of time a client is in counseling depends on the nature of the problem and the goals of counseling. Some clients have a very specific problem that can be worked through in a set course of counseling. For others, counseling is an on-going learning process and they choose to receive counseling for a longer period.
