Anew Counseling Services was established in 2012 and has successfully treated many teenagers and adults. Our goal is to create a supportive, warm environment in which our clients can explore their emotional needs and overcome barriers that limit their full potential. We take an open-minded approach and consider every aspect of our clients' lives. We offer individual counseling to our teen and adult clients.
We primarily use evidence based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques along with borrowing from other treatment modalities as needed. Our focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. We achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan. If you would like to have a free consultation to begin your counseling journey, use the contact page to reach out to us today.
We promise to provide a warm, confidential setting to serve as your safe place and to be there for you through every step of your journey. Our goal is to help you grow from your struggles and move forward to where you want to be in your life.
We offer both in person and tele-health counseling for teenagers and adults. Typically sessions are 45 minutes to 1 hour. Most clients come once per week but we are able to see clients two times per week or every other week depending on what each client's needs are.
Both generalized and social anxiety can be very debilitating and can negatively affect a person's life. In our practice, we first take the time to learn about all of your symptoms and struggles to develop an individualized treatment tailored to your specific needs. You will learn different relaxation and refocusing techniques. In addition, we will work with your perspective and see how you internalize situations and explore ways to change your perspective, which in turn will change how you feel. We believe that your thoughts affect your behavior, therefore if your thoughts change, your behavior will as well, in a positive way. You will learn how to understand how you feel, rationalize your thoughts, and develop a more positive way of thinking.
We primarily treat generalized anxiety, social anxiety, depression, grief, oppositional defiant disorder, self-esteem and self worth, academic struggles and transitioning in high school and college, panic disorder, and struggles with life transitions. For our teenage clients, family counseling is also incorporated into treatment as needed. We also treat symptoms of anxiety/depression for women who are battling breast cancer and help these clients navigate through the ups and downs of this disease. Currently, we are expanding our training in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder using Exposure and Response (ERP) therapy and will begin taking clients suffering from OCD.
